The arm of a young woman upcycling her old glass reed diffuser by making it into a vase.

Upcycle your old glass!

Welcome to our brand new series... Upcycle with us! We will be sharing easy and creative ideas to upcycle all your old home fragrance products to save them from ending up in the bin!

Todays upcycle idea is changing your old diffuser glass into a small flower vase! This is a very creative way to introduce some unique décor into your household. Or why not personalise it with a loved ones favourite flowers and turn it into a special gift!
Before you begin you want to ensure that your diffuser glass is properly cleaned out. For this, we used hot, soapy water! Fill your glass with soap and water, and then shake to ensure all fragrance is stripped from the glass. Wash out all bubbles and dry!
Next fill your diffuser glass up with cold water, We filled ours to half way as this fit our size diffuser glass and flowers the best. In our tutorial over on Instagram, we used an old No.7 Vanilla 300ml glass, but you can use any size glass, even candle jars. Using multiple sizes of glass and displaying them next to each other can also create a unique look.
For our flowers, we hand picked ours from the garden! This can be a really nice idea if you like to grow your own flowers, or you can purchase a beautiful bunch from the shop! Next up is the fun part where you can arrange your flowers. Cut them to different sizes to create a full appearance. Place them into the diffuser glass and personalise to what you love! You can get really creative and use flowers that match the colour of your home!
We then displayed our flowers on a coffee table in the lounge. We placed the flowers on a wooden tray with some accessories around it to create a modern look! You can find this over on our Instagram!
